City slump to 10-man Sartid
THE one goal advantage the Citizens held from the first leg just wasn't enough as they slumped to a two-goal defeat against Sartid in Yugoslavia.
Goals from Milorad Zecevic and Nenad Mirosavljevic were enough to seal a comfortable victory on the night and overturn the deficit.
Sartid began the match at a predictably frenetic pace as they pushed for an early goal and they were denied a penalty after 13 minutes when Boris Vaskovic was felled in the area.
The hosts picked themselves up from that disappointment though, and took the lead a minute later, striker Zecevic heading home a left-wing cross to level the tie.
Bangor, with ex-Manchester United star Clayton Blackmore looking to continue his unbeaten record in Europe, struggled to create any scoring chances against a determined and well organised Sartid defence.
And it was the home side who extended their advantage after 58 minutes.
Mirosavljevic picked up possession just outside the area and ended a fine solo run with a low shot from 10 yards which beat the Bangor goalkeeper Philip Priestley with ease.
Bangor's hopes of getting back in the tie were boosted when Sartid's Zeljko Damjanovic received a red card for a professional foul just outside the penalty area on 61 minutes.
But the free-kick came to nothing and Bangor failed to make their numerical advantage count as Sartid clung on for the victory.
