WPL career details for Danny Holmes

Connah's Quay Nomads
Defender who signed a one-year deal at Tranmere Rovers in July 2007 which was extended a year later. He went on a month long loan to Southport in December 2007 before making his first team debut for the Prenton Park outfit at Yeovil Town in November 2008. Released by TNS in May 2011, he returned to become a regular in Tranmere's defence, making 133 appearances and winning the young player of the year award in 2012. Following Tranmere's relegation into the National League, joined League Two Newport County and was offered a new contract by the Exiles at the end of season 2015/16, but the offer was withdrawn and he was released after failing to accept the contract by the deadline. Holmes then joined National League North club AFC Fylde in the summer of 2016 but, in November, he signed for National League club York City on a contract until the end of the season. He was in the starting line-up that beat Macclesfield Town 3-2 at Wembley in the 2017 FA Trophy final, but rejected a new deal to remain with the Minstermen and signed for Bangor City.
