Aber run out comfortable winners
ABERYSTWYTH gave an impressive display to see-off the challenge of Carmarthen Town and book a last eight tie.
The Seasiders were ahead inside four minutes, when Steff Edwards found Lewis Codling on the edge of the area and he drove an unstoppable shot past Old Gold keeper Mike Lewis.
But it took good saves from home keeper Steven Cann to deny Sacha Walters and Nick Harrhy on two occasions before the Black & Greens extended their lead on 26 minutes, Luke Sherbon firing a snap shot from the edge of the box.
Sherbon curled an effort just over soon after the break and Walters blasted wide at the other end when well-placed.
And the win was sealed when Codling, who had just seen a good shot saved, got the final touch to a sublime chip from Sherbon.
James McCarten hit the crossbar and his lively former Everton team-mate Codling fired just wide as Aberystwyth ended comfortable victors.
