City maintain their grip on the cup
BANGOR City continued their superb run of cup victories by seeing-off league leaders Llanelli at Farrar Road.
The game' defining moment arrived as early as the sixth-minute when the Reds' Stuart Jones was sent-off for bringing down Ashley Stott when through on goal and Jamie Reed hammered home to spot kick.
But it took the Citizens until stoppage time to clinch the win when defender Dave Morley steered the ball home from 20-yards.
City had earlier chances to settle the tie, Stott blasting an eight-yard volley against the crossbar and, in a breakaway move, four home players failed to get the better of a lone defender.
Keeper Morris denied Stott when he was clean through on goal, but the visitors also had their chances with Rhys Griffiths seeing a snap shot from outside the box deflected for a corner and sending another drive wide, while Chris Venables was denied by a block.
Craig Moses could only steer the ball at City keeper Paul Smith, Venables blazed narrowly wide and Stephen Evans had a shot tipped over by the keeper, but the hosts held out for a deserved success.
