THE New Saints have signed Irishman Kurtis Byrne from Linfield, who finished fourth in last season’s Northern Ireland Football League Premiership.

The 28-year-old forward began his career with Norwich City in the 2006/07 season, before leaving to join Hibernian where he spent two years with the youth team. Byrne made his professional debut in August 2009 in the Scottish League Cup against Brechin City and made his league debut the following Sunday against Celtic.

He was loaned to Stirling Albion, East Fife and Alloa Athletic before being released by Hibs and joining Ross County on a one-year contract. He helped the club win the Scottish First Division and promotion to the SPL. Byrne was loaned to Brechin City in September 2012 and was then released by Ross County  in December 2012.

He signed for Dundalk in January 2013 and then Bohemians in November 2015, the club his father Paul spent most of his career at, before joining another of his father's old clubs, St Patrick's Athletic in January 2017.
