THE New Saints' defender Steven Saunders has returned to Scottish football by joining Championship outfit Livingston in a two-year deal.

A Scottish international with one cap, the 27-year-old started his career with Motherwell and made 59 appearances before a move to Ross County, where he signed a one year deal.

Saunders moved to Dumbarton in September 2015 and appeared 25 times before leaving the club in June 2016 and signing for TNS, where he scored four goals from 37 (+3) Welsh Premier appearances, which were limited by injury last season.

Livi's assistant manager David Martindale said: "We were after Steven when he was previously playing for Dumbarton in the Championship.

"He brings a wealth of experience to Livingston, having made over 50 appearances for Motherwell and 19 for Ross County in the Premiership.

"He is a big strong quick player and can play centre back or right back."
