THE New Saints opened-up a nine-point lead at the top of the Welsh Premier table with a 3-0 away win over Bala Town at a stormy Maes Tegid.

After a goal-less first half in which Greg Draper hit the crossbar for the visitors, the game was settled by two goals inside two minutes. Ryan Brobbel's pass found Chris Marriott who scored with the aid of a wicked deflection and Brobbel then doubled the lead with a free-kick after a foul by Stuart Jones.

And a defensive lapse in stoppage time allowed substitute Wes Fletcher to add a third with a simple tap-in.
