THE New Saints are back on top of the Welsh Premier table but were forced to work hard for a 5-2 victory by rock-bottom Carmarthen Town.

The Old Gold took a second-minute lead at Park Hall through Kyle Williams, but goals from Greg Draper and Wes Fletcher had the hosts in front by the 22nd-minute. Ryan Leak added a third just before the half hour mark but a quick response from Liam Walsh gave Carmarthen hope. There were no further goals until the 90th-minute when a Jamie Mullan goal sealed the points and TNS added a fifth in stoppage time thanks to a Danny Thomas own goal.

Cefn Druids beat Barry Town United 2-1 at The Rock with Naim Arsan opening the home account on 53 minutes. Chris Hugh responded for Barry within three minutes but the Ancients got a winner through substitute Jonathan Taylor, who scored three minutes after coming off the bench with 10 minutes remaining.
