ADAM Roscrow claimed a brace as second-placed Cardiff Met moved within a point of Welsh Premier leaders The New Saints with a 2-0 home win over Newtown.

The first goal came from the penalty spot in the 37th-minute when referee Richard Harrington ruled that Luke Boundford had handled and Roscrow headed his second just past the hour mark from a pinpoint Eliot Evans cross to take his season's goal tally to six.

Connah's Quay lost some ground as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Llandudno in the live TV game. Nathan Woolfe put the Nomads ahead in the 12th-minute, but a superb 25-yard strike from Danny Hughes secured a point for the Seasiders.

Les Davies also grabbed two as Bala Town overcame Barry Town United 2-0 at Maes Tegid. "The Truck" fired into the bottom corner after 10 minutes after being found by Mike Hayes and then crashed home a second goal from the edge of the box on 22 minutes. Hayes almost added a third in the second half but his volley went inches wide.

Cefn Druids and Carmarthen shared a goal-less draw at The Rock to leave the Old Gold anchored to the foot of the table and the Ancients in fifth place.
