NEITHER side was able to gain the win that would have taken them to the top of the Welsh Premier table as Connah's Quay and The New Saints drew 2-2 at the Deeside Stadium on Tuesday night.
Ryan Wignall hit the crossbar for Nomads with a looping ball over the TNS defence in the early minutes before the visitors took the lead when Greg Draper rounded keeper John Danby to send an angled shot into the back of the net.
The Saints' advantage last just two minutes before Matthias Bakare's surging run down the right past two defenders ended with a pass from the byline to Jay Owen, who finished from eight yards. TNS were back in front just before half-time when Danby sent the ball straight to Draper who made no mistake in a one-on-one.
Nomads got back on level terms in the 53rd-minute when Tom Holland brought down Owen in the area and Callum Morris converted from the penalty spot.
Jake Phillips blocked a good TNS chance with Jay Owen clearing the danger and Joe Heath made a diving header to block another TNS chance from a corner as the game ended in stalemate.
