NEV Powell has recruited another of his former charges by signing Joe Culshaw and Ashley Young who both played for him at Bangor City.

A 24-year-old Carrog-born defender, Culshaw was a youth at Wrexham before being released and signing a one-year deal with Morecambe. Despite being voted Under-18s player of the year he was released by the Shrimpers and played for Lancaster City along with a loan spell at Cefn Druids in the Huws Gray Alliance in 2012/13 before joining Bangor City. He left the Citizens in December 2014 and signed for Druids but, after making 27 (+12) Welsh Premier appearances, departed following the club's relegation and joined Flint Town United and then Radcliffe Borough this May.

Young, 27, was formerly with Ashton United, Mossley and Nantwich Town before he joined Bangor City in August 2015. Loaned to Rhyl in November 2016, a move which became permanent two months later, he has made 44 (+6) WPL appearances.

Meanwhile, Powell has also added recruited Craig Hobson, who has previously played for Stockport County, Lincoln City and Guiseley before scoring 10 goals for Chester City in the Conference, and was most recently with Altrincham.

Also arriving at Park Avenue is former Swansea City and Shrewsbury Town academy player Matthew Jones, while Jay Crowther has left Park Avenue along with summer signing James Etherington, who has signed for newly-promoted Alliance outfit Llandudno Junction.
