THE New Saints' chief Craig Harrison has been linked with the latest managerial vacancy in his native north East of England at Hartlepool United.

Despite not being quoted in the bookmakers' list to replace the sacked Dave Jones, former Middlesbrough left back Harrison is "one to watch" in the recruitment of a new boss for the Pools, according to local newspaper the Hartlepool Mail.

The 39-year-old has ambitions to manage in England and just missed out on being appointed boss at hometown club Gateshead last season.

During his five years-plus stint with TNS, Harrison has guided the Saints to the title in all his six seasons in charge and has also lifted the treble on two occasions, a feat which could be repeated when his side play Bala Town in Sunday's Welsh Cup final seeking a fourth consecutive victory.

Sky Sports presenter and Hartlepool fan Jeff Stelling, who called for Jones's sacking at the weekend, is a 100/1 shot for the job!
