TWO days after becoming Carmarthen Town's all-time leading goal scorer, Liam Thomas has been named as the Welsh Premier player of the month for April.

The 25-year-old scored a brace at Bangor City on Saturday in a 2-0 win to guarantee the Old Gold a home tie in the Europa League play-offs against Cardiff Met, having scored from the penalty spot earlier in the month when his side drew 1-1 away at Bala Town.

Thomas has now notched 57 goals for the Richmond Park outfit since joining from Afan Lido in the summer of 2012, beating the haul of previous record-holder Danny Thomas.

Manager of the month is Huw Griffiths of Cefn Druids, whose side fought-off the fear of relegation to finish in eighth position. The Ancients drew 1-1 away to in-form Newtown before beating Llandudno 3-2 and Airbus UK 3-1 at home.
