ABERYSTWYTH eased their relegation fears and put a serious dent in Llandudno's play-off hopes with a 2-0 win at Maesdu Park.

The Black & Greens took a 13th-minute lead when a surging right wing run by Malcolm Melvin ended with a cross which was converted by Mark Jones. The visitors had more good chances but finally added a second on 76 minutes when a Mark Jones breakaway was foiled by Danny Shaw, but the ball rebounded to Melvin who netted from a narrow angle.

Cardiff Met are still without a Phase 2 win as they went down 3-2 at home to Bangor City. Kyle McCarthy put the students ahead, but Dean Rittenberg equalised before Laurence Wilson put the Citizens in front on 56 minutes. Henry Jones fired home a free-kick for the third, but the hosts set-up a tense finish when Rhys Thomas scored his first Welsh Premier League goal nine minutes from time.
