LOWLY Garden Village stunned Cardiff Met University with a 2-0 victory at Stafford Common.

The defeat leaves the students in second place, three points behind Penybont, who ran out 7-4 winners in an eventful affair at Afan Lido, who have now slipped into the relegation zone.

Despite taking the lead through Simon Prangley, Lido were never a match for the visitors whose goals came from a hat-trick from Anthony Rawlings, a brace from Richard French and goals from Jonathan Hood and Nathan Renfree.

Both sides ended the game with 10-men following the dismissals of Lido's Ben Thomas and Bont's Cullen Kinsella.

Goytre United moved ahead of out-of-action Haverfordwest County with a 3-1 win at Cambrian & Clydach, while fifth-placed Caerau Ely won 3-0 at bottom club AFC Porth.

Monmouth Town beat Pontardawe 3-1 with Andy Smudge scoring twice, while Aberdare Town edged past Goytre 2-1.

In Friday night's other game, Ton Pentre hit back from a goal down to beat Taffs Well 2-1 thanks to goals from Jaymie Wearne and Shane Davies.
