HAVERFORDWEST County revived their promotion hopes with a first win in four outings, prevailing by the odd goal in seven at Goytre.

"This win gets our promotion hopes back on track," said relieved manager Wayne Jones.

After Matthew Prosser had seen a penalty saved by Craig Morris, he put the Gwent outfit ahead but Luke Borrelli soon equalised. Steffan Davies headed the Bluebirds in front and Borrelli added a third before County had Nicky Palmer sent-off.

Craig Moses reduced the deficit from a free kick before Josh Bull equalised but Greg Walters snatched a crucial winner to leave the visitors six points adrift of leaders Penybont with four games in hand.

Second-placed Cardiff Met University dropped two points at home as they were forced to settle for a goal-less draw with lowly Garden Village.

Elsewhere, Monmouth Town won 1-0 at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel thanks to a late goal from Nick Harrhy and Aberdare won 3-0 at Pontardawe.

On Thursday night, relegation-haunted Afan Lido went down 3-0 at home to Taffs Well with Chris Hugh, Tyrone Toppar and Scott Hillman scoring for the visitors.
