BANGOR City proved too strong for Welsh League Ton Pentre on a heavy Ynys Park pitch, winning their re-arranged third round Welsh Cup tie 2-0.

The home side had their share of chances in an evenly-contested first half, with the Bulldogs' Leon Jacka hitting a post and Liam Reed failing to slot home the rebound. But City took the lead at the worst possible moment for the hosts on the stroke of half time when a quickly-taken free-kick was crossed to the far post by Gary Roberts for Brayden Shaw to head the ball home.

Sub Daniel Nardiello hit the home crossbar before Henry Jones slotted home City's second and both Nardiello and Jamie Reed hit the crossbar in quick succession.

City will be at home to Welsh League leaders Goytre in the next round, while Cefn Druids progressed to a tie with Llanfair United, but were forced to work hard before overcoming Llantwit Major of Welsh league Division 3.

Mike Pritchard opened the home account from the penalty spot just after half time and Corey Roper added another to end the minnows' hopes of more cup glory.
