BANGOR City edged a thriller in the Nathaniel MG Cup at Bastion Gardens, beating Prestatyn Town 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out.

The Citizens were in cruise control at half-time with a 3-0 lead through Shaun Cavanagh, Rodrigo Branco Araujo and Sion Bradley. But the Huws Gray Alliance Seasiders hit back and forced extra-time with goals from Jack Kenny and two former City players, Mark Smyth and Paul O'Neill.

Kenny skied a penalty over the bar before Oscar Durnin put City ahead again with five minutes remaining. But, in the last minute of the extra-period, Kenny grabbed his second to force the penalties.

Connor Littler fired a hat-trick for another Alliance side, Holywell Town, but ended up on the losing side as Cefn Druids won 5-3 with goals from Adam Eden, Corey Roper, Ashley Ruane, Steve Blenkinsop and Mike Pritchard.

Luke Boundford topped and tailed a 4-2 away win for Newtown at Pontypridd Town with Jamie Price and Ross Stpehens adding the other goals.Jon Foligno put through his own goal after 10 minutes. Mark Gornall levelled from the spot but Ryan Wollacott got the winner for the visitors on 71 minutes.

Rhyl won 5-1 at Caernarfon Town with Rio Ahmadi netting twice on his debut after his move from Bangor. A Clive Williams own goal put the Lillies on the path to victory, with Kristian Pierce and Tom Hartley also scoring.

Cardiff Met beat Taffs Well 5-0, WIll Evans and John Littlemore grabbing two apiece alongside a Dan Spencer goal.
