BALA Town struck a blow in the race for an automatic Europa League spot as they beat Bangor City 2-1 at Nantporth to leapfrog their rivals into second place.

Yves Zama headed the Citizens into the lead from Steven Hewitt's free kick, but Chris Venables levelled in the 38th minute as the home defence failed to deal with a cross. After Joel Bembo-Leta fouled in the box, Venables fired the Lakesiders into the lead from the penalty spot but missed-out on a hat-trick when another spot kick was saved by keeper Matthew Hall.

Barry Town United cemented their lead at the top of the Play-Off Conference with a 1-0 win away at relegation-haunted Carmarthen Town. The stalemate was finally broken in the 81st-minute by Drew Fahiya to make it four wins on the bounce in the second phase for the visitors.

Llandudno lost ground as they were held to a 2-2 home draw by rock-bottom Prestatyn Town, who snatched an equaliser from the penalty spot through James Stead two minutes from time. Earlier, the Seasiders had taken the lead through Myles Hart, only for Sam Hart and then Danny Shaw to put Llandudno in front.
