TRAILING 2-0 at half-time, Newtown mounted a second-half comeback to defeat Cardiff Met 3-2 at Latham Park.

The visitors scored twice inside two minutes when an inswinging cross from Dylan Rees found the net and Jordan Lam then fired home from 10 yards.

The fightback started nine minutes after the break as Neil Mitchell converted from a Ryan Kershaw cross and, when Luke Boundford was tripped in the box, Jamie Reed equalised from the penalty spot.

The winner arrived on 79 minutes when Kieran Mills-Evans sent a glancing header past keeper Will Fuller from a Boundford cross.
