THE New Saints won 4-1 at Prestatyn on Friday night to surge 11 points clear of Bangor City, who moved into second place with a 3-1 home win over Newtown.

It took TNS nine minutes to open their account at Bastion Gardens through Wes Fletcher and Jon Routledge doubled the lead just after half-time. Further goals followed from Alex Darlington and Aeron Edwards, but the Seasiders did claim a last-minute consolation through debutant Oliver Buckley.

Bangor took a 16th-minute lead when Steven Hewitt's lofted pass found Gary Taylor-Fletcher and the lead was extended on 62 minutes with a superb shot from George Harry. The Robins responded with a looping Neil Mitchell header, but Harry secured the points with his second of the night after keeper Dave Jones had made a double save from Luke Wall.
