CONNAH'S Quay have recruited experienced striker Andy Owens, who began his career with hometown club Liverpool, later moving to Stoke City.

After being released by the Potters, Owens spent time with Stafford Rangers and Altrincham before joining Rhyl in 2010/11 where he made seven WPL appearances, scoring once.

Owens spent time on trial with Morecambe before joining Accrington Stanley and made his League Two debut against Macclesfield Town. Released at the end of June 2011, he went on to join Southport and then Mansfield Town. In June 2013 he signed for AFC Telford United before a loan move to Stockport County and then a move to Skelmersdale United.
