GREG Draper claimed a brace as The New Saints won their game in hand 3-1 at Cefn Druids to surge five points clear at the top of the Welsh Premier table.

But they were forced to hit back from a goal down after Arek Piskorski drew first blood for the Ancients with a goal on 39 minutes. Draper produced a response within two minutes for the champions and, after the break, Jamie Mullan added another from a Wes Fletcher cross.

And the three points were sealed on the hour mark when Draper completed his double to top the goal scoring chart with a haul of 11 goals this season.

• After later video review, Greg Draper's second goal was adjudged to be a Matthew Eckersley own goal.
