THE New Saints will face Shkendija of Macedonia in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.

Champions of their country for the first time in 2011, Shkendija progressed to the play-off round of the Champions League in 2016 after beating Cracovia of Poland, Neftci of Azerbaijan and MladáaBoleslav of the Czech Republic before losing 6-1 on aggregate to Belgians Gent.

The repeated the feat last season with victories over Dacia Chisinau of Moldova, HJK Helsinki and Trakai of Lithuania, who are Cefn Druids' Europa League opponents later this month, before a 7-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan.

Should TNS progress, their second qualifying round opponents will be either Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia or Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova.
