CAERNARFON Town returned to winning ways and the top of the Huws Gray Alliance, beating Porthmadog in an exciting local derby in front of aa crowd of 567 at The Oval.

Darren Thomas put the Canaries in front on 21 minutes and Kevin Roberts extended the lead on 74 when he headed home a cross from Rob Jones.

But the visitors set-up a tense finish through a stunning Julian Williams strike which found the top corner of Paul Pritchard's net.

Cefn Druids dropped two points adrift of the summit after a 3-3 draw at Buckley Town. Phil Molyneux put the Bucks in front but Gareth Partridge drew the Ancients level on the half hour. Despite having Mark Winslade sent-off, the visitors took the lead through Dave Forbes before the break. Adam Eden equalised for the hosts and, after Jack Graham had restored Druids' lead, an added time goal from Jon Taylor earned Buckley a point.

Holywell Town are third after winning 1-0 at promotion rivals Prestatyn Town thanks to a Graeme Williams goal.

Fifth-placed Guilsfield were stunned 2-1 at home by bottom club Caersws, whose goals came from Sion Clarke and Josh Hartrick either side of a Phil Draper own goal.

Holyhead Hotspur led Conwy Borough at the break with an Alex Jones goal, but the Tangerines levelled in the second half through Joe Chaplin before ending the game with 10-men after the dismissal of Lee Davey.

Llanfair United switched their home game with Rhayader Town to Newtown's 3G pitch at Lathem Park and were rewarded with a 2-1 win, Joe Vaughan and Jamie Davies netting the goals before Christian Jones pulled one back for the visitors.
