AFTER crashing out of the Welsh Cup first round at the hands of Welsh Alliance outfit Llandudno Albion, Rhyl have accepted the resignation of manager Niall McGuinness, the club has tweeted tonight.

At 24, McGuinness become the youngest manager in the Welsh Premier League when he was appointed to the post in February last year to succeed Gareth Owen.

But he was unable to prevent the club from sliding to relegation and the Lilywhites have made an indifferent start to their current campaign in the Huws Gray Alliance, lying in eighth place with 11 points from their first eight games.
