RHYL defender Mike Sharples has left Belle Vue to rejoin Ruthin Town, the club where he started out as a youth.

The 27-year-old, who went on to play for Llandyrnog United and Denbigh Town, signed for Bala Town in August 2011 and spent time on-loan at Rhos Aelwyd during the first half of the season.

Sharples joined Conwy Borough in the Huws Gray Alliance in June 2012, moving to gap Connah's Quay for 2013/14, where he spent time on-loan with Flint Town United. After a spell with Denbigh Town he joined Rhyl in July 2016 and made 20 Welsh Premier appearances for the Lilywhites last season.
