WELSH Premier leaders The New Saints were held to a home draw for the second game in succession as Bala Town fought back from a goal down to secure a point.

TNS took the lead in the 13th-minute when Aeron Edwards saw his cross from the right wing defeat Ashley Morris in the Lakesiders' goal and nestle into the top corner.

Lee Hunt was inches wide from an equaliser 10 minutes later with a header that went just over the bar and keeper Paul Harrison then denied Ian Sheridan in a one-on-one, forcing the striker to sent his shot inches wide.

A minute before the break, former TNS midfielder Conall Murtagh headed just wide but Bala were rewarded five minutes into the second half when Rob Pearson found space in the box from a Kieran Smith pass and drilled a low shot past Harrison to score his first WPL goal for the visitors.

Adrian Cieslewicz saw a drive fly just wide of the target as TNS sought a winner and sub Scott Quigley sent a shot wide with Morris beaten.

Sheridan and Smith also went close for the visitors who deserved to take a share of the spoils.
