ABERYSTWYTH Town gained a 3-0 Welsh Premier victory away to Cefn Druids, who were left to rue missed chances as they crashed to a third straight league defeat.

A defensive mix-up on 13 minutes almost gifted Druids a goal when Ryan Woolacott headed the ball over keeper Chris Mullock, but Aberystwyth took the lead soon afterwards when Geoff Kellaway played a one-two before slotting the ball under Michael Jones. The visitors could have added a second two minutes later but Jones made a point-blank save to deny Luke Borrelli.

The Ancients had a chance to level when Steve Blenkinsop was felled but former Druids' keeper Mullock saved Mike Pritchard's spot kick and Blenkinsop then dragged a shot wide of the target after intercepting an underhit backpass from Joe Clarke. Matthew Eckersley's header was cleared off the line by the Black & Greens' defence on the stroke of half time and Stuart Cook fired straight at Mullock from the rebound.

After the break, Corey Roper's shot was well-saved by Mullock and Pritchard stretched to nudge the ball past Mullock but his shot lacked enough power to find the net.

But the result was sealed 10 minutes from time when Druids allowed Luke Borrelli acres of space as they appealed in vain for offside and the striker made no mistake.

Pritchard went close again for Druids with a shot that Mullock tipped around a post but the points were safely on their way back to the coast before sub Kostya Georgievsky added a third goal deep into stoppage time.
