WELSH Premier bottom club Haverfordwest County have boosted their squad with the addition of Scott McCoubrey, Kristian Speake and Alex Connell.

Central midfielder McCoubrey, 27, is a former Wales Under-19 international who was with Cardiff City as a youth and played in the Welsh Youth Cup final before being released from Ninian Park.

He then joined Port Talbot Town and played for Gowerton Juniors, signing for Afan Lido in the summer of 2008. McCoubrey played for Hamilton FC in the American Premier Development League in 2010/11 and then SW Florida Adrenaline in 2012/13 before returning to the Lido.

He has since had further spells in north America with Toronto Lynx and, most recently, Philadelphia Fury in the ASL.

A product of the Swansea City youth system, full back Speake, 24, returns to his hometown club after spending three years at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he holds the record for the most appearances.

He has also spent time in the USA, playing for Carson Newman University and Nashville FC last season.

Connell is an Australian goalkeeper who has recently moved to the UK and was a coach for Melbourne Victory’s academy as well as playing for Box Hill United.
