Gareth OwenMIDFIELDER Gareth Owen has agreed to join Greg Strong's coaching staff at Rhyl to fill the vacancy created by the recent departure of Dave Cameron.
Owen, who is currently taking his Pro Licence Qualification, will also remain a member of the first-team squad at Belle Vue.
"I am delighted Gareth has agreed to come on board, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience and will add a new and exciting dimension to the club in the coming months," says player-manager Greg Strong.
Capped eight times by Wales at Under-21 level and once for the 'B' squad, Owen was Welsh Premier player of the season in 2008/9.
He started his career by joining Wrexham as a trainee before signing professional forms in July 1990.
Released at the end of the 2000/1 season he joined Doncaster Rovers and returned to his home town club Connah's Quay in the summer of 2003 after helping Rovers back into the Football League.
He was appointed player/manager of Airbus UK in the 2005 close season, but made a surprise move to Rhyl as a player three years later.
