England take Four Nations glory
NEEDING only a draw to clinch the Four Nations, England beat arch-rivals Scotland 3-2.
They took the lead after 13 minutes when D J Campbell outmuscled Kevin Souter in the penalty box and flicked the ball over Ally Ridgers. Defender Scott Anderson tried to hook clear but Adam Stansfield bundled it over the line.
But the Scots drew level before half time, Stuart McKay racing 40 yards before lifting his effort over keeper Matt Glennon.
England were ahead again soon after the break when Scott Kerr who ran on to a low Adam Stansfield cross from the right after the Scots had been caught on the break.
But the Scots were level again immediately when John Coutts was felled by Stephen Haslam and Johnston stepped convert the penalty.
But another penalty settled the game in England's favour when keeper Ridgers made a rash challenge and Dean Sinclair netted the spot kick.
