Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes was appointed manager of Newtown at the beginning of November 2013, following the departure of Bernard McNally to become head of youth at Shrewsbury Town.

Hughes was in his fourth season as assistant manager at Prestatyn Town, having previously been involved as assistant at Buckley Town, Rhyl and Caersws. As a player, Hughes was a midfielder/striker with Buckley.

A sports development officer with Wrexham Borough Council, Hughes has also worked with the Welsh Football Trust in the past.

Hughes holds the Uefa A licence and has applied for the Pro-Licence course due to start in March 2014.
