NEW signing Lee Hunt has been denied an early chance to show his mettle after Bangor City's Tuesday night date with Airbus UK was called-off. A waterlogged Farrar Road pitch has caused the game to be postponed for the second time, but Citizens' boss Nev Powell is delighted to have clinched a deal to secure the return of the prolific marksman, who was released from his contract with Rhyl at the weekend. "I’m absolutely over the moon to have signed Lee," a delighted Powell told the Daily Post. "I’ve just lost Chris Sharp to The New Saints and quickly brought in a replacement in Eddie Jebb, but when we heard over the weekend Lee had become available to sign we moved for him like a shot. "He will bring added quality and class to the front-line - he’s a good target man who can score goals and will hopefully bring that extra factor to push us up the league. "I’ve tried to sign him a couple of times in the past but he always seemed to slip through the net, but we’re delighted to have finally got him on board." Llanelli will inspect at lunchtime ahead of their scheduled fixture with Carmarthen Town amidst fears the Stebonheath Park pitch will not survive a severe weather warning for south Wales. A win would take the Reds back to the top of the table, but the visitors are desperate for points to strengthen their bid for a top 10 finish after being forced to share the spoils at Newtown on Saturday. |
