| Wrexham clinch Holden loan deal |
| Monday 01 February 2010 |
WREXHAM have confirmed they have received international clearance for Rhyl's Luke Holden to join them on an emergency loan deal. Despite having played for two clubs already this season - Rhyl and Charlton Athletic - Holden is available to play for the Racecourse outfit for a maximum of 93 days, which effectively means the remainder of the season. "It's a big relief that things have finally been settled," Holden told the Dragons' website. "I've been training with Wrexham for getting on a month and can't wait to be playing again. "Having said that, forcing my way into the team won't be easy, but I'm working hard at doing that. "The faith put in me by Dean Saunders is great and a real boost, knowing that someone like him believes in me. "I just hope that I can repay him over the coming months." Wrexham's Supporters Association have agreed to finance the player's wages over the next three months. A left-sided forward who was a Liverpool youth and Tranmere Rovers trainee, Holden joined The New Saints in August 2007. He was released the following April after making 22 first team starts, first following former manager Ken McKenna to Cammell Laird and then playing at Bradford Park Avenue before returning to the Welsh Premier with Rhyl in January 2009. He attracted the interest of Coventry City in the close season but, after failing to agree personal terms, joined Charlton Athletic on loan on transfer deadline day in September. |
