A KAYNE McLaggan goal for Barry Town United sent Welsh Premier leaders The New Saints crashing to a home defeat at Park Hall.

The striker capped a breakway move in the 51st-minute for his seventh goal of the season and the hosts were unable to find a response.

Cardiff Met closed the gap on TNS to just one point with a 5-0 demolition of hapless bottom club Carmarthen Town, who are five points adrift of the pack. A Dave Vincent own goal set the students on course for victory with Kyle McCarthy, Eliot Evans with a brace and Adam Roscrow heaping more woe on Mark Aizlewood's men.

Bangor City returned to winning ways at Newtown, but the three points came at a cost as George Harry was stretchered-off, leaving the visitors with only 10-men as all three substitutes had been used. Dean Rittenberg volleyed City into the lead on the stroke of half-time and, although Jamie Reed back-heeled an equaliser against his former club, Rittenberg got the winner when a mistake by Robins' keeper Dave Jones left him to roll the ball into an empty net.
