CONNAH'S Quay went level on points with Welsh Premier leaders The New Saints, who play tomorrow, with a 2-1 home win over Prestatyn Town at the Deeside Stadium.
Nomads took the lead after 62 minutes when Kai Edwards nodded home from a Nathan Woolfe free-kick and the lead was doubled when Michael Bakare spotted keeper Carl Jones off his line and passed the ball into the net from 40 yards out.
But Prestatyn set-up a nervous finish for the home side when Alec Williams scored with a superb finish four minutes from time and only a goal-line clearance from Jake Phillips prevented an equaliser.
Bala Town beat Llandudno 2-1 at Maes Tegid with Nathan Burke hitting a 20-yarder to open the scoring for the hosts. The Seasiders were soon level with a Sam Hart penalty but the Lakesiders claimed the winner on 68 minutes through Mike Hayes.
Aberystwyth claimed their first home win of the season, beating Cefn Druids 1-0 thanks to a John Owen volleyed goal 15 minutes from time and only a superb save from keeper Michael Jones denied Luke Borrelli a second for the hosts.
