BANGOR City took over at the top of the Welsh Premier table as they beat Connah's Quay 1-0 in a re-arranged fixture at Nantporth on Tuesday night.

The only goal of the game arrived on 75 minutes when player-coach Gary Taylor-Fletcher stooped to head his fifth league goal of the campaign from Brayden Shaw's cross. And the Nomads could have few complaints as, minutes earlier, Danny Gossett fired over an open goal and, straight after the goal, Danny Holmes almost added a second with a low shot from inside the area which went just wide.

Visiting keeper John Danby did well to keep out a 30-yard effort from Luke Wall before City had a gilt-edged chance to put the game to bed in the final minute. George Horan was dismissed with a second yellow for a pull on Dean Rittenburg, who fired the resulting penalty over the bar.
