BANGOR City and The New Saints moved onto the six-point mark in the Welsh Premier League table after Friday wins against Prestatyn Town and Barry Town United respectively.

Danny Holmes struck a 22-yard shot into the bottom corner for the Citizens after 21 minutes in a closely-fought affair at Nantporth, with the visiting Seasiders remaining in with a chance of snatching a point until the final whistle, despite the dismissal of James Stead midway through the second period.

Wes Fletcher's third goal in two games secured the points for TNS in their first meeting with Barry for 13 years at Jenner Park to leave the hosts still searching for their first win since returning to the top flight. But, although the reigning champions dominated possession, the hosts created more chances without being able to convert.

In the night's other game, Cefn Druids gained their first win of the campaign, beating Aberystwyth Town 2-0 at The Rock. Mike Pritchard volleyed home at the near post from a Lewis Buckley cross before Ashley Ruane fired home from a corner on the stroke of half-time to leave Nev Powell's side still looking for their first victory.
