FORMER Leicester City scholar Aaron Hassall has joined Llandudno from Nantwich Town.

A former youth team player with Airbus UK Broughton, he made eight appearances for the first team and became one of the Welsh Premier's youngest goal scorers whe he scored against Carmarthen, also appearing in a Europa League tie against Haugesund in Norway.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who played for Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 levels, moved to the Foxes on a two-year deal for a substantial five-figure fee in August 2014.

After featuring for the Under-23s, he was released two years later and signed for Denbigh Town and, despite trialing with Llandudno in pre-season, moved to Nantwich.

Meanwhile, Widnes-born midfielder Ben Jago, who made two Football League sub appearances for Tranmere Rovers before signing a pro contract, has left Maesdu Park.

Jago had loan spells with Hyde and Annan Athletic before being released from Prenton Park, joining Llandudno in August 2016. After a brief spell with Skelmersdale United in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division he moved back to Maesdu Park in December and made a total of six (+3) WPL appearances.
