LLANDUDNO backed-up last weekend's home victory over Carmarthen with a 2-0 away win at Aberystwyth Town, while Newtown were held to a home draw by Cefn Druids as both sides gained their first point of the new campaign.

In the clash of the Seasiders at Park Avenue, Llandudno took the lead early in the second half when Danny Shaw flicked a Toby Jones delivery over keeper Chris Mullock and into the net. It took a good challenge from Danny Shaw to deny Geoff Kellaway an equaliser after rounding keeper Dave Roberts, but the visitors settled the contest two minutes from the end of normal time when sub Sean Cavanagh laid the ball off for Danny Hughes to fire into the bottom corner.

The Ancients took a 12th-minute lead at Latham Park through an Ashley Ruane penalty conceded by James Murphy, who was stretchered-off six minutes later. The Robins had the best of the chances after that, but had to wait until the 86th-minute for an equaliser when a Craig Williams corner was eventually bundled into the net by Nick Rushton.

Jamie Reed had a stoppage-time chance to win it for the hosts, but failed to find the target from a Williams cross.
