YOUNG Shrewsbury Town defender Callum Roberts has completed a loan switch to TNS.

The 18-year-old left-back, a first-year professional at Town, links up with Scott Ruscoe's side until January. It is his second loan spell after a stint with Hednesford Town last season.

Roberts, who featured for Town in pre-season, said: "It's great to come into a first-team environment. It's a chance to prove myself and to the gaffer at Shrewsbury.

"I'd like to say thanks for the chance to prove myself in men's football."

"I'm a dynamic left-back, I like to get forward but I can defend as well. I like to play at a high tempo and hopefully add a few assists and goals to the team, keeping clean sheets too."
