CARDIFF Met and Llandudno both got off to winning starts with 3-0 victories over Cefn Druids and Carmarthen Town respectively.

The students opened their account at The Rock through Chris Baker who sent a low shot past keeper Michael Jones. And it was Baker who doubled the lead with a similar goal 10 minutes before the break.

Druids had their chances, Ashley Ruane failing to profit from a one-on-one with keeper Will Fuller, but Eliot Evans ensured the points went south with a well-taken free-kick after 76 minutes. The Ancients then had Stuart Cook sent-off for a second caution to compound their opening day misery.

Llandudno found scoring difficult last season but were aided by the Old Gold's who conceded two penalties in the final quarter of an hour, both converted by Sam Hart. In between, Shaun Cavanagh scored on his debut just two minutes after coming off the bench.
