BOOKMAKERS Corbett Sports have slashed the odds on Bangor City winning the Welsh Premier table from 20s into 10/1 after last night's 5-2 hammering of reigning champions The New Saints.

TNS, whose odds have been eased considerably from an initial 1/5 out to 4/11, conceded five goals in almost 10 years, since they lost 5-1 at Aberystwyth's Park Avenue.

"We're shell-shocked" reflected Saints' manager Scott Ruscoe. I've told them that performance is just not acceptable.

"It's a tough one to take in the first game of the season - Bangor, Bala and Connah's Quay are all pushing and to start the season like that is not what we wanted. To concede that many goals is disappointing to say the least."

After a 4-0 win away to Prestatyn Town, the 25/1 on offer for Connah's Quay Nomads has been cut to 16/1.
