LEAGUE Two Yeovil Town have snapped-up defender Daniel Alfei, who spent last season with Aberystwyth Town, where he made 18 Welsh Premier appearances.

"How Daniel has been playing non-league football for Aberystwyth Town is beyond me," said Yeovil manager Darren Way, who has signed Alfei on a two-year deal. "It's up to him now to take this opportunity and aim for 40 league games this season."

Alfei, 25, made his professional debut for Swansea City in 2011 but spent most of his time with the club on-loan with spells at Wrexham, Portsmouth, Northampton Town and Mansfield Town.

Capped by Wales at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels, he was released by the Swans at the end of season 2015/16 and signed for Aberystwyth the following September, making 18 Welsh Premier appearances.
