GAP Connah's Quay moved into second place in the Welsh Premier League table after becoming only the second side this season to beat champions The New Saints.

James Jones marked his full debut for TNS by firing home from eight yards out after the Nomads' defence had cleared the ball off their line on 33 minutes. On as a 70th-minute substitute, Declan Poole made an impact, delivering the corner from which John Disney scored the equaliser.

And, seven minutes later, former Everton Under-18 starlet Poole smashed a 15-yard volley into the roof of the visitors' goal leaving keeper Paul Harrison with no chance.

Nomads, who have the same points total as European rivals Bala Town but a better goal difference, face TNS again in just over a week's time in the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup.
