NEWTOWN strengthened their grip on top of the Play-Off Conference with a 4-0 away hammering of Aberystwyth Town.

Jason Oswell headed the Robins into the lead five minutes before the break, with Gap Connah's Quay loanee Nicky Rushton adding another early in the second half.

Oswell lobbed home keeper Chris Mullock from 40 yards for the third and, after Aberystwyth's Luke Sherbon had been red-carded for a high tackle on Luke Boundford, Oswell completed his second hat-trick of the season to take his tally to 16 and head the race for the Golden Boot.

Relegation-haunted Rhyl and Airbus both picked-up a point, the Lillies snatching a dramatic late equaliser at Llandudno with a Steffan Halewood header after thosts had earlier taken the lead through Marc Williams.

The Wingmakers were kept at bay by Cefn Druids' keeper Michael Jones in a goal-less statemate at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium. Ryan Edwards, Tony Gray, Reece Deakin and Ryan J Edwards were all denied by Jones as the hosts failed to turn their second-half dominance into more than a point.
