DESPITE taking the lead at Latham Park, Airbus UK crashed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newtown as relegation becomes a stark reality for the Broughton outfit.

Tony Gray headed home off the underside of the crossbar from a corner for his ninth goal of the season on 26 minutes but the lead was brief before ex-Airbus striker Jason Oswell sent a looping header over keeper Shaun Pearson from a Craig Williams cross.

Alex Fletcher then took a hand for the Robins, scoring either side of the break, the first a glancing header from a Luke Boundford delivery and the second a near post finish from Neil Mitchell's pass. The visitors had former Newtown loanee Obi Anorou sent-off for an elbow on Shane Sutton and Kieran Mills-Evans hammered another nail in their coffin a minute from time.

Cardiff Met and Carmarthen shared the spoils at Cyncoed thanks to a late equaliser for the students from Emlyn Lewis. Lee Surman had headed the Old Gold into the lead just past the half hour, but Chris Baker had Met level just after the break. Liam Thomas restored the advantage for the visitors, who had Dwaine Bailey sent-off and the 10-men were unable to hold out for the three points.
