DEFENDER Phil Baker has been loaned to Aberystwyth Town by The New Saints.

The 34-year-old, who has recently returned from injury, has made 340 (+24) Welsh Premier appearances for Bangor City, Aberystwyth and TNS.

"It's a perfect move for Pip," says TNS manager Craig Harrison. "He's going there for a month to get some games in and then when he comes back, if called upon, he will be in a better position to play.

"He did a fantastic job for us recently at St. Mirren, playing out of position and not long back from injury himself."

After starting his career with Tranmere Rovers, Baker joined Bangor City before a move to Conference outfit Exeter City.

Following a season with Aberystwyth and a spell with Droylsden, he rejoined the Citizens, where he made 28 appearances in 2004/5 before signing for TNS.

Baker was named in the Welsh Premier dream team for 2006/7 and again in 2014/15 and was recently voted the FAW's Clubman of the Year.
