NEWTOWN boss Chris Hughes has been named as the manager of the month for January/February, breaking a run of six consecutive awards for The New Saints' chief Craig Harrison.

The Robins drew their final game in Phase 1 against TNS, becoming the first side to take a point from the champions-elect this season, and have built on that result by winning all three of their fixtures so far in the second phase to clinb out of the relegation zone.

Newtown have beaten Llandudno and Cefn Druids away from home as well as defeating Rhyl at Latham Park.

Player of the month is Anthony Stephens of Bala Town has played in all four matches since the turn of the year as the Lakesiders have moved back into second place.

The 23-year-old former Wrexham left back, who joined Prestatyn Town on a season-long loan in August 2012, made a permanent move to the Lakesiders in June 2015 after spending season 2014/15 on-loan at Colwyn Bay.

Stephens scored a penalty and was also credited with two assists as Bala beat Bangor City 3-2 and was prominent in the victories over Cardiff Met and Carmarthen Town.
